Ordered the chowder and it turned out to be a waste of $$— only had one piece of fish. Service was pretty bad here as well. Much better food elsewhere

Cute, cozy. and rustic. Food and drinks were very good. Prices were more reasonable than other places we tried in Seward.

Well, their salmon and halibut stake was good, but their king crab was good enough to ruin my family's last dinner in seward. Long story short, it was terrible grade crab, it was likely empty and dried. They don't want to serve this quility food to seward visitor... I expressed my disappointment to them and heard back that they cannot change to new one because I already ate them much. Well, I did not even ask them to change to new one, they made me feel guilty that was the second bad experience in the restourant. My family and I had many good experience in seward, but did not in this restourant. I visited here because of very high rate, but it seems to need to be adjusted to be fare. I recommend trying other restourant for king crab.

Awesome food, cold beer on a hot summer evening.

This is a super cute place with no-frills presentation of homestyle, delicious food. The prices are good by any standard, and excellent for Alaska. Great service, too- highly recommend

Hard to go to Seward without a visit to the Salmon Bake. Love the rustic vibe and the service.

We tried to go into this place last summer. There were 4 of us, but 2 were still in the parking lot when we went in to get a table. The “hostess†refused to seat us. We told her the rest of the party were right behind us. Again she refused to seat us. I went out to get the other 2 to hurry up - the restaurant wasn’t even that full as I had seen at least a couple of empty tables and only one party behind us. When I went back in my husband was still at the front counter refusing to leave. The waitress made a rude notion for us to get the f@#% out of the way and basically ignore us to seat the party behind us. Just then the other 2 came in. She was still acting extremely rude and ignored us again as she came back to the front counter appearing to be ‘busy’ with writing something down. We turned around and left at that point. I’ve never experienced such rudeness from a service person EVER. Never been back.... so much for Alaskans for Alaskans.

Whoever the chef is, is amazing. I came with my family we had ribs, salad, pasta, and salmon and it was cooked so well with amazing seasoning. Honestly one of the best restaurants I’ve been to ever could give 6 stars if possible

Really good spot and I'm probably closer to a 4.5 than a 4. We tried the halibut cheeks which were really tasty. My brother and I split the Alaskan King Crab. It was very good. The rice and corn were good sides to go with the crab. They give you cornbread as well and definitely ask for seconds of that. My Dad had a bowl of Seafood Chowder and seemed to enjoy it. Overall it was a great meal.

This place looks sketchy but it was the best salmon I've ever had! I also got the halibut bites which were also amazing. Hidden gem!

Great place to eat and drink beer

The food and service were both EXCELLENT. The Gulf Captain's plate was ðŸ‘ðŸ»ðŸ‘ðŸ»ðŸ‘🻠the salmon was amazing.

The food here was absolutely amazing, and definitely worth a visit if you're in Seward. King crab should definitely be on your plate, even if only the appetizer. Staff also really friendly and helpful.
Jaclyn Berkley
Crowded and the servers seemed a little stretched but very friendly service and good food. Really enjoyed the halibut cheek taco special the fries! Great meal after a long hike to the ice fields.

Awesome food, good beer and very friendly staff. I would go there again, if I will be nearby. Of course you have to try the Salmon Bake.

Amazing food. Must try for seafood lover

Easily the best food I had in Alaska, and probably the most perfectly cooked salmon I've ever had! Seafood chowder and cornbread were also delicious!

The waitress is very accommodating and friendly. The inner design looks very cozy. Food is delicious though a bit pricey.

This was some of the best salmon I've ever had. They cooked it perfectly and did a good job of letting the fish "stand on its own" without over seasoning it. Now granted, I have been landlocked my entire life... but still, SO GOOD! Every now and then I'll dream about this place. I hope I can go back someday.

We were staying at the Exit Glacier lodge and wanted to get some drinks without having to drive anywhere so we visited here and we're glad we made the decision. The servers were very friendly, we definitely overstayed beyond closing time but no one made us feel unwelcome at any point. The food was great as well, I ordered the crab legs which were very nice.

Great seafood and friendly service. The atmosphere in the restaurant is awesome.

Some of the best food in Seward. Great salmon and great chowder.
Carol Edwards
Very friendly and attentive service, and ample portions of delicious food. The chowder was excellent, as were the crab cakes and broiled halibut we ordered. Definitely would recommend this place!

I’d give it a 3.5 if that was an option. It was “OK†but not great considering the wait for a table, and the location of you are staying in Seward itself is a drag.
Phillip Kolodzie
Wife and I split a platter and they kept the prawns on a side plate (I'm allergic, she enjoyed them) just like I asked. Halibut chunks were soggy, however, they tasted delicious. Broiled salmon was outstanding. Good seafood chowder, but I wish it had a smoky flavor.Good beer and wine selection. Around $5 for a pint, unless you can stomach High Life for $2.18.King crab was $20/half pound.Pricy-ish. Most restaurants in Seward are around the same cost. We were $160 for 4 adults and a burger eating 12 year old.

We've been customers since they opened. Only complaint is they put capers in the crabcakes. I've eaten them my whole life and have never heard of such a thing. Other then that the food is great

The restaurant is beside the road heading to exit glacier. they don't accept reservation, so it will be better to go early. Captain's platter was great, halibut was tender, king crab legs were a little salty, berry cobbler was awesome.

Nice building, great staff and Salmon bake dinner blackened, seafood platter and seafood chowder all really good! Sides and cornbread with honey butter all good:)

Best salmon I had in all of seward, and reasonable prices. Would definitely come back

Decent Price for More than decent meal! We had the Broiled Salmon & Broiled Red Snapper with Corn & Rice for sides. Seasoning was not salty but still delicious! If you want to feel full & not break the bank, this is the place to go!P.S. You're in Alaska. Known for Seafood. Order Seafood and you'll never go wrong.

Great food! The salmon was great. I did not like the halibut much in the captains platter, but my partner did like the one in the side dish.
Justin Kjellstadli
Best food in seward the only thing thats not good is that they're not open all year round

Just happened to stumble on this little gem while on vacation! The food is amazing! All Of It! We had to come back the next day just to verify how amazing it was & it didn't disappoint! This is a must stop in your list!!!

The Exit Glacier Salmon Bake in Seward Alaska is a must try for anyone passing through or staying in Seward. Their catch phrase "cheep beer and lousy food" is simply untrue. The food was very good, perhaps the best food I enjoyed on my Alaskan trip. This is a very rustic and charming place where blue jeans and flannel shirts is the best clothing choice. We were immediately greeted and seated then our server came instantly with fresh ice water quickly returned to take our order when she delivered fresh cornbread and honey butter. I ordered the Captains platter of salmon, halibut, and shrimp with 2 sides. My daughter had halibut fish and chips. I must say the cole slaw is the best I have ever eaten. I liked this place so much I purchased a t-shirt and took our dessert to-go. Please don't hesitate to try this restaurant.

Great atmosphere and amazing staff! Classic Alaskan decor and cozy fireplace. Yummy food options. Always a good time!

This place doesn't look like much from the outside but if you're in the area I strongly suggest eating here. Everything we got was delicious.

When in Seward you must stop here or make the drive when they are open for the season. I waited all winter patiently and it was so worth the wait! Awesome/fun atmosphere, wait staff is on point and they get to know you, pickle bucket=yes, cold beer and finger licking good food from appetizers to desserts. For sure get the salmon bake at least once.
Tom Weissinger
All seafood was great! Captain's platter was highlight. Salmon and halibut were best. King crab legs cracked well and were tender.

Wonderful atmosphere and great food

A destination restaurant. Highest marks for friendly service, rustic lodge decor, and amazing food. We were a bit worried that the phrase "Salmon Bake" meant that this was a tourist trap (since it's a buzzphrase with many tour providers in South Alaska). But it wasn't that at all. But they are much more than a salmon restaurant. I've never had better halibut. The steak was tender and perfectly seasoned. Desserts were all from scratch and each better than the last. For those who are budget-concious, the menu prices may seem steep, but they are happy to split plates, and all entrees come with cornbread, a giant dill pickle, and two large sides. We split meals and were stuffed. It winds up being an excellent value.

Excellent Food, Wonderful Staff, Great Value For Your $

Picture this, the frozen Alaskan rain pummelling the car, a chill in the bones no car heater can shake. All hope seemed lost. When I saw the large sign and entrance to Exit Glacier Salmon Bake, we were saved. We entered the saloon to Hollywood level ambiance. Fishing supplies on the ceiling, hollowed stumps for lamp shades. We had the steak, salmon, and crab cakes, each of them a different experience in themselves. I took one bite of the steak and I felt the strength of ten men. The Salmon transported me to a fishing boat on the Bering Strait to watch this exact fish get caught. The crab cakes ages me 30 years to witness and taste what a successful retirement looks like.Safe haven is a warm tease of Heaven tucked away in Alaska.

Great place to try salmon while on Seward area. They also have cute outdoors which give make good photo ops. I'd recommend this place to anyone who wants to try salmon while in the area. Please note, they do not have many options for vegetarians.

We went on a glacier cruise last week and were hungry afterwards. This was the PERFECT place for our group of nine. Great food, drinks and casual atmosphere

Nice food, nice staff. Cannot go wrong with this one.

The food was good. The seafood chowder had a good amount of seafood in it. The burger was large and the pick your own fill pickle from the barrel is a nice touch. The wait staff was quite slow as if they were understaffed. But overall a nice meal.

Truly unique dinning experience and great food.

Tasty place that fills up quickly! I ordered the Barnyard Bugeater sandwich and found it tasty, the chicken being moist with a slight kick. Service was excellent and overall found it satisfying.
